It's Friday, time to show le Stuff you did this week,
(or recently)
Link up your projects at the bottom.
In honor of the "premier officier" Friday, I am showing you one of my first and favorite "Redouxs"
This was a thrift store find. Purchased for a few dollars when we moved into our current home. I knew I wanted to "redoux" furniture, had tried my hand at a few things, and this time, decided to let my creativity take a new level. I did a bunch of different finishes, used Black wax to age it.
Rubbed Gold Paint on the inset, then to really get the old look I wanted.
a friend who owned an Antique store suggested I take a blow torch to it!

It is a tricky thing to do, and I recommend a lot of practice, and appropriate safety gear......
but it does create a really neat effect of making the paint "bubble up"

This chair has proudly sat as sentinel to the backyard for almost 8 years now.
Mostly it gets used as a step stool by my daughter as she takes her seat at our built in nook for dinner.
Oh well, at least it gets used.
Every Friday, I will host the party, hope you will be here to share.
s'il vous plaît (please) link back with my button and share the link directly to your blog.
merci
vous voir bientôt - GTC (aka Karen)
I will publish a few of the best on Monday, so be sure to check back!
