Le Craig's, the race to the Free

Do you use "Free Stuff" on Craig's List?  I do, I go in spurts, sometimes checking it several times a day like a crazed addict.  When you score some really good free stuff, it can be hard to stop.  I get a very unhealthy adrenaline rush when I come upon "le free" and realize I have scored a big pile of stuff to "Redoux".

Recently I noticed a posting for "Free Cabinets" in my neighborhood.  It was about an hour and a  half old.  I thought I had a pretty good chance of scoring it.  As I frantically raced (going the speed limit) to my destination, my heart kept racing faster. When I got to the house, all the good stuff was ALL STILL THERE!
There was a large computer monitor on top of one of the cabinets, I just had lifted it off the cab, when I noticed in my peripheral vision, a young man who had been parked on the other side of the street.  Conversation then proceeded as follows, Him: "Um, excuse me Ma'am I was here first, I am just waiting for my dad to come with a truck".  WHAT???????  My greedy brain searched for a solution, I was on a crazed HIGH from my free stuff addiction and he had just thrown cold water all over me.  For a split second, 3 thoughts raced through my mind.  Answer A: "Well, too bad, I am here first with the van, I am taking it, bye!", Answer B: "Let's arm wrestle for it".  (I was a lot bigger and a lot stronger (i think....).

I went with answer C:, "Oh, darn, thanks for letting me know, you got a really nice free deal here."

I slunk away in my car, totally defeated and saying things under my breath that rhyme with Sam, all the way home....

This week, my luck turned.  I was looking for a "Princess Style Dresser to go in my daughter's room to match the "Free to Me" desk I did in White and Silver.  I found the score of the century.  I got 4 beautiful pieces, all Princess Style for $175.  Dresser number TWO is finished and ready to go in the new room.  Will hopefully post on that next week.

Three pieces were solid wood, excellent condition.  Now this more than made up for this:

BTW, I am "off" Craig's list for a while. Withdrawal was painful, but necessary for my mental health.  I couldn't take the highs and lows any more!

PS Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Friday Redoux Features and Link UP!!!
