Beginning to see the light

The good thing about being somewhat laid up is I am finally getting to all those "little" projects I have been meaning to get to for years.  I guess it takes having two surgeries in one month to make me slowwwww down.

Case in point, I bought this lamp years ago with the intention of painting it and "redouxing" the shade.  5 years later, well it finally got done.

Base used to be blah brown, now sporting silver antique finish with dry brush black.  Shade got a fabric slipcover and a unique personality.  No more blah here. 

I painted the base before surgery, in case anyone reading is wondering how I paint and rest.  I don't.  The shade, that all got done sitting down.

Tomorrow's project?  Maybe I will actually take up needlepoint again.  I am sure I have some unfinished needlepoint around here circa 1985!
