Every weekday morning, my daughter attends early Church education classes for youth. We leave the house about 6:30, drop her off around 6:40, then I have about a 10 minute window before I have to be home for the 2nd shift (other children)
One morning it "dawned" on me (get it???) to check the back of a nearby furniture store for throw outs, hey, there might be something good back there. I had been picking up Wood Pallets from a Hardwood store for a while now, so time to expand my horizons.
Imagine my delight when I found this!!!
My friend Emma gave me the suggestion to make a giant clock out of it. That is definitely on the list, even have the giant clock hands, just have to wait for the holidays to calm down.....
This morning, I knew it was trash day for local businesses, so I thought I better take a quick cruise. Sometimes the businesses around the furniture store have good stuff "dumped" next to their dumpsters. I saw a few things that caught my eye, but it was dark still, so I pulled my car in closer, got out for a better look, and heard a lot of noise.......Either coming from inside the dumpster, or behind it. Luckily, good sense prevailed and I got back in my car, just as a friendly looking face emerged from the dumpster! D'oh!!! A friendly wave to Dumpster Man and I was on my way.
Of course, I drove the whole way home thinking Dumpster man had something good and if I were just a little more bold, I should have dove in and fought him for it.
Oh well, as they say, " un déchets de l'homme sont un autre trésor de l'homme".
