Le Black

I do quite a bit of Black furniture for contract.  Black is a terrific neutral, and can add elegance to any decor.  I have done more Black Dining, kitchen, side and Coffee tables than I can count, here are a few:

but every once in a while, I long for something a little different than your basic black.

I was thrilled when my friend asked me to Restore and update her antique chairs.  They were outdated brown, and she had beautiful needlepoint work that was done by a relative, perfect to be used as chair pads.

The Chairs were actually not bad after I sanded the "faux" grain off:

 The Chairs got a "Basic Black Paint" makeover from my favorite "modern masters black"

Sometimes, I find less is more, just a little distressing on the edges where the paint may have naturally worn off:

A little wear where an arm might rub off the paint naturally

Now that it is after Memorial Day, I can bring on my White, stay tuned, White coming next post!
