Guest Post, Viv, from "The V Spot" and the Friday Redoux Link Pary!

Hey everyone, a double feature today, 1st, I want to introduce the "oh si doué" (oh so talented, I know, I only speak franglais), Vivienne from "The V Spot".  Viv is one talented and oh so hilarious woman.  She is a force of energy, with husband, and 4 boys!  Somehow, she manages to stay razor sharp in her humor and wit, and even throws in incredible craft and furniture tutorials once in a while.  Viv is one of those people that you know you would want to sit next to at a party because she would be the most fun!  Please go visit her after you check out her post, and be sure to LINK UP!

Please see below for my Friday feature, and Link Up with me :)...and now for the fabuleux "Viv":

Hi all, I'm Vivienne from The V Spot and I'm super happy to be guest posting at Redoux today.
I think Karen is a genius.  Her furniture "redoux"s are amazing and inspirational... enough to send you cruising through your neighborhood looking for yard sales and combing thrift stores looking for those proverbial diamonds in the rough.  And then there's craigslist.  Lots of fun furniture finds on craigslist, right?
Do you know what else craigslist has a ton of...?  Stupid People.
For sure there are stupid buyers out there, but there are lots of stupid sellers too.  Sellers who make it so dang difficult for a potential buyer that we don't even bother with them....
While searching on one day, I found this: a perfect example of what NOT to do if you want to sell a coffee table on craigslist....
  • ...leave your photo rotated on its side so that potential buyers need to turn their heads (or their laptops) to see your photo
  • ...make sure you snap one blurry photo and call it a day
  • ...have your table so covered with toys and other miscellaneous crap that buyers can't actually see the table you're trying to sell
Good luck with that, Mr. Pine Rod Coffee Table in San Clemente, good luck.
Thanks for having me Karen!  I'll say it again that your "redoux" projects are enough to keep me braving the wilds of craigslist anyway!

Thank you so much Viv!  And now, the featured link up and Link Party:

This week I am so thrilled to showcase Fiona from Lilyfield Life.  Fiona hails all the way from Australia.  So fun to know that so many places in the world, we are all doing similar things.  Redouxing things we have found that were in the dump, lackluster, bargain finds, or just needed a face lift.

I am huge fan of daybed makeovers.  There are just so many fun things you can do with these guys! Check out what she started with:

I love what Fiona says of this sad, well, it looks like garbage, sorry!  That is what amazed me so much.....

"I bought this revolting old day bed at auction. With some white paint, a new mattress and some effort I've turned it into a gorgeous vintage day bed"
And check out what she did with it after, you won't believe your eyes:

Fiona, très magnifique!
